Scandalous Women in History! First Ladies, and what made their lives so scandalous!

 Secrets of success!

Success is earned, one step at a time. One of the most invaluable skills a person can have is being able to clearly express what they want. You have the courage that leads to success. As long as you’re learning, you’ll never fail.

The most successful people don’t look back to see who’s watching.

“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fail.”—Confucius

Look for opportunities to lift others up along the way. Having the proper mindset, moving outside your comfort zone, developing and maintaining healthy relationships, and staying focused have been key drivers of success for thousands of years.

The Unforgettable Love Letters of John and Abigail Adams!

When we think of John and Abigail Adams, it’s hard to imagine any couple in American history being more influential or significant. Yet, when they first met back in the summer of 1759, they weren’t immediately smitten with one another. With a nine-year age gap, young Abigail wasn’t even on John’s radar as a potential wife.

However, as their letters began to be exchanged in late 1761, it became evident that their connection was powerful, both physically and emotionally. Their passionate discussions about Shakespeare’s sonnets or Moliere’s plays were interspersed with tender kisses and loving embraces.

John would write to Abigail about how a storm had stopped him from visiting her in Weymouth, while Abigail expressed their connection went beyond just friendship or intellectual attraction. There was no denying that for John and Abigail Adams, love encompassed a deeper intimacy – one that conversation alone couldn’t cover. This required not only mental but also physical attraction.

While we can’t be entirely sure whether they were intimate before marriage, the fact that their first child was born just eight and a half months after tying the knot suggests the possibility. Regardless of this detail, their undeniable temptation and magnetic chemistry prove that their love story was far more than just a meeting of brilliant minds. For John and Abigail Adams, it was an unbreakable bond, far more significant than anything that could be put into words.

These words come from letters to John & Abigail. I know it’s hard to find a secret embrace before they are married! But let your imagination get the better of you, and you will see what I have felt!

The letters that tell us about their long love affair. At times passionate, occasionally vexed, they were lovers, friends, partners, trusted advisers and confidantes.

John’s involvement in the American Revolution and the creation of the new republic often separated them. During the 1770s, he was in Philadelphia with the Continental Congress; in the 1780s, he was a negotiator in Europe; and in the 1790s, vice president and president in New York, Philadelphia and Washington.

John’s initial indifference towards Abigail swiftly faded, giving way to a passionate exchange of letters. He became increasingly flirtatious, exemplified by his letter during their courtship on October 4, 1762, where he adoringly addressed her as ¨Miss Adorable¨ In that same letter, John playfully requested that Abigail grant the bearer as many kisses and hours of her company as desired after nine o’clock, charging them to his account.

Abigail, however, maintained a more sophisticated demeanor in her written exchanges. They adhered to the period’s custom by adopting pseudonyms for one another – John as Lysander and Abigail as Diana. On August 11, 1763, she penned her thoughts on their bond:

“A connection deeper than mere humanity and more powerful than friendship… When combined, they form a triple-braided cord. By this cord, I am unashamedly bound, nor do I believe you are entirely without its grasp… Lysander’s health and happiness is no less important to his Diana than Seneca’s was to Paulina.”

She then mused about whether there could be a way for two kindred spirits to communicate despite being separated by 400 miles. Letters sufficed but left her longing for a deeper connection – one that would allow her to hear John’s thoughts or see them materialize. The end of his letter had made her heart race more than any cannon fire ever could. Despite John’s request for her to burn his letters, she knew she couldn’t do so unless she erased him from her memory first.
